ARCHAEOLOGICAL BIBLIOGRAPHY Compiled by DR. SAM WOLFF

November 2006 (Partially updated January and December 2008)

Notes for users:

  • References listed here are my suggestions, based on a personal inspection of each title and databases of major libraries throughout the world. The contents should be fairly accurate (everybody makes mistakes, however!) but the formatting consists of my interpretation of the conventions used by the Publications Department. I request that users send me corrections and/or alternative suggestions so that they can be incorporated into future updates.
  • The prehistoric periods are under-represented in this bibliography; hopefully this will be corrected in updated versions.
  • This list should not be criticized for what is missing, only for what it has. I didn’t have the luxury of time to enter all items which I thought needed to be entered; rather, I entered, more or less, what I received in the many lists I received from the Publications Department and by individuals. I can always add others, should time be available for me to do so. Thus, I request that users send me items to be included in updated versions, especially bibliographies from their own publications.
  • Please consult the complete list of abbreviations available from the Publications Department for all abbreviations that appear in this list. Journals that don’t appear in the Publications Department list have not been abbreviated here.
